English composer, born in London 2nd November 1954 [1].

One of a group of composers who have little or no concert or commercial recording career, but whose nevertheless prolific output is evidenced for the most part in UK theatre souvenir programs. Others in this group include Paddy Cunneen, Jason Carr and Adam Cork. Like them, Yershon's work has been limited almost exclusively to music for drama, mainly in theatre but also including radio, television and film. [2]. He has also composed for dance [3].

He began his working life as an actor and has also worked as writer/translator (e.g. Ruslan and Lyudmila [4] for the BBC) and musical director (Phyllida Lloyd's 1994 production of The Threepenny Opera at the Donmar Warehouse) ; Mike Leigh's 1999 film Topsy-Turvy)
