Gary Matthews (born in Dublin in 1967) was an Irish soccer player and is currently goalkeeping coach for Bohemians in the League of Ireland and for the senior Dublin GAA team.

Matthews was a goalkeeper who played for Athlone Town, Kilkenny City, St. Francis F.C., Longford Town and Bohemians amongst others during his career. He appeared for Francis in their epic FAI Cup campaign of 1990 when the then non-league club reached the Cup Final before losing to Bray Wanderers. He was also capped at youth level by the Republic of Ireland.

He became goalkeeping coach at Bohs when Sean Connor arrived at Dalymount Park in the 2007 season. When a goalkeeping crisis hit Bohs, Gary was drafted into the first team to play against Cork City F.C. on August 10. Despite being in his 40s, Gary put in a fine display in a 2-1 win for Bohs.
