Gary Weech Goodman (born December 6, 1953 in Sydney, New South Wales) was an Australian cricket player, who played for the Tasmanian Tigers and the Southern Redbacks. He was a right handed batsman and very occasional off break bowler who represented Tasmania from 1978 until 1980, before playing for South Australia from 1980 -1983 and returning to play for Tasmania until 1993. He was famous for scoring a century in his very first match, and was seen as a potential Australian player. However, after many inconsistent performances with both the bat and the ball, he was looked over for test selection an uncountable number times. His flashes of brilliance were compounded by his dissapointing batting average; only 25 runs per innings for a batsman didn't cut it for Australia, even if he had the ability to score the odd century. Popularly referred to as 'Weechy' or 'Old Man Gazza', Gary is now a Senior Teacher of Health and Physical Education and the First X1 Cricket Coach at Marist College Canberra, ACT Australia.
