Gary D. Forsee

Gary D. Forsee was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sprint Nextel Corporation (2005 - 2007). He took the reins of the telecommunications corporation on the retirement of William Esrey, prior to the merger with Nextel.
Gary D. Forsee, a native Missourian and veteran business leader, was appointed as the 22nd President of the four-campus University of Missouri System on December 20, 2007. He is a 1972 graduate of the University of Missouri - Rolla, now known as Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.
The University of Missouri Board of Curators voted unanimously during executive session to hire Mr. Forsee with an initial three-year contract. Mr. Forsee succeeded Interim President Gordon H. Lamb, who served since April 2007. Mr. Forsee began his duties Feb. 18, 2008.
