Gary Barden

Gary John Barden (born August 27, 1955 in Tunbridge Wells, England) and first sang in the group Fraser Nash before fronting Michael Schenker Group from 1979 to 1982. He was discovered by Michael Schenker upon the guitarist's hearing a Fraser Nash demo. He appeared on The Michael Schenker Group [1980], MSG [1981] and One Night at Budokan [1981] albums. He was asked to leave the group and in the interim worked with Gary Moore. Barden returned to MSG in 1983 for the album Built to Destroy [1983], followed by the live album Rock Will Never Die [1984]. After his stint in MSG he went on to form Statetrooper with brothers Steve and Paul Johnson. Gary Barden is currently [2007] fronting Silver and Statetrooper and maintaining a solo career. Gary Barden has been recording a new album with Michael Schenker Group called "In the Midst of Beauty" which will be released in April followed by a world tour.
