Gary Anderson (born December 22, 1970) is a Scottish darts player. His nickname is Dreamboy. Gary uses "Jump Around" by House of Pain as his walk-on theme/music. He won his first major televised event at the 2007 International Darts League - which featured players from both darts organisations - the British Darts Organisation and the Professional Darts Corporation.

His record at the BDO World Darts Championship is disappointing given that he has been ranked as high as world number one by the World Darts Federation. He made his debut at Lakeside in 2002 and went out to Sweden's Stefan Nagy in the first round.

He has also suffered first round defeats in 2004 (to Tony O'Shea), 2005 (to Raymond van Barneveld), 2007 (to Albertino Essers) and in 2008 (to Fabian Roosenbrand). His only level of success came in 2003 when he progressed to the semi-finals, losing 2-5 to Welshman Richie Davies. His only other win at Lakeside was in 2006, when he got past Gary Robson in the first round before losing again to van Barneveld in the second round.

He has won several BDO Open events including the 2006 Swiss Open and German Open.

[edit] Major successes

Anderson won both the International Darts League and World Darts Trophy titles in 2007. It was a significant achievement as he succeeded against fields comprising of the top players and world champions from both the rival organisations the PDC and BDO.

In the two events, he had victories against Wayne Mardle, Roland Scholten, Mervyn King, James Wade, Adrian Lewis, Mark Webster, John Part, Peter Manley, Andy Hamilton and Phil Taylor.

Shortly after his WDT title, his success continued by clinching the British Open to add to his 2007 Scottish Open success.

In 2008, Anderson added the German Open and the Welsh Open to his resume.
