Garneddwen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Garneddwen is a hamlet in the south of the Welsh principal area of Gwynedd (formerly in Sir Feirionnydd/Merionethshire). It lies in the valley of the Afon Dulas.
It consists primarily of a single row of terraced houses, built for the workers at Aberllefenni Slate Quarry. Nearby is Fronwen, built as a family home by the quarry manager.
Garneddwen was the penultimate station on the narrow gauge Corris Railway.
The ancient Roman road between north and south Wales, Sarn Helen, probably ran through the hamlet.
