Garforth Community College (known as Garforth Comprehensive School until September 1992) is a secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18 and is located on Lidgett Lane in Garforth, West Yorkshire, England. It was opened in 1967.
Garforth Community College has been labelled an "outstanding school" by OFSTED officials and is one of the few public schools on the latest honours list and is also a specialist performing Arts College, that holds many musical and dramatic events. There are also extensive sports facilities for students to use, including an Artificial Football pitch, large fields, and several large halls.
The school itself has over 2000 students and staff. It is also one of the pioneering schools behind finger-print placed lunch payment system, which lowers the risk of crime, and solves the problem of students purchasing snacks, reducing the impact of the school's healthy eating campaign.
