Gardners Books

Gardners Books is the second-largest book wholesaler in the United Kingdom. Based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, Gardners supplies books to a number of British retailers including Waterstone's, Tesco.com Books, TheHut.com, Play.com and WHSmith. They claim to stock over 700,000 titles from over 4,000 publishers.
Gardners provide an automated telephone enquiry line known as GardCall which gives availability of a book from an ISBN. Gardners also provide support for EPOS ordering systems.
Employees are paid minimum wage and have minimal work benefits, which leads to a high turnover of staff.
