Garden salad

A garden salad is an entree sized salad. The smaller sized salad is called a side salad. The base for the salad is lettuce such as iceberg or romaine or some mesclun greens. Other toppings include:
- tomatoes, usually cut into wedges or bite sized such as cherry tomatoes.
- carrots, either baby carrots or shredded.
- onions, sliced into rings, usually red onion.
- cucumbers, sliced into circles.
- olives, usually pitted Calamata type.
- mushrooms, usually sliced buttons.
- bell peppers, sliced into rings.
- broccoli
- bacon bits
- cheese usually shredded Cheddar cheese
- hard boiled egg, sliced
- croutons
The garden salad is served with a dressing, such as ranch dressing, honey mustard, Italian dressing, Thousand Island dressing, French dressing, or blue cheese dressing.
