Garaway High School

Garaway High School is a public high school in Sugarcreek, Ohio. It is located on St Route 39. It is the only high school in the Garaway Local Schools district [1]. Their nickname is the Pirates. Garwaway is located at 403027N latitude and 0813826W longitude.

Garaway is a High School in Sugarcreek Ohio. Its district consists of the combination of a Middle School and four grade schools: Garaway Middle School (in Sugarcreek, Ohio), Miller Avenue Elementary (in Sugarcreek, Ohio), Ragersville Elementary (in Ragersville, Ohio), Baltic Elementary (in Baltic, Ohio), and Dundee Elementary (in Dundee, OH). Miller Avenue used to be 3rd Street School. That school was torn down and Miller was built in 1969. The school's name was created in the early school days by a student who is unknown. He/She came up with the name by combining parts of the names of the townships that each of the district consisted of. (Sugar,Auburn,Wayne).

Garaway combined five schools in 1960 to make Garaway. These are Dundee High School, Ragersville High School, Baltic High School, Sugarcreek High School, and Shanseville High School. They took the nickname of Sugarcreek. The Pirates. They also built the new school in Sugarcreek. This is because Sugarcreek was the biggest of the five towns. Today Shanesville is no longer a town.

At one point the Middle School was in Baltic. Now it is in the same building as the high school.

In 1990 the school added a new addition. It was a new gym. The old gym is now used by the Middle School.
