Gara is located at 18.3333° N 84.0500° E.^[2] It has an average elevation of 21 meters (72 feet).

• Kalingapatnam village is a beach resort in Gara mandal and also meeting place of River Vamsadhara to Bay of Bengal. Kalingapatnam is one of the closest beaches to Srikakulam town.

• Salihundam is an ancient buddhist pilgrimage centre.
• Srikurmam is famous Kurmanadha Temple.
• There is a post office at Gara.

Tulug is a village with 100 population and there is no power . the education  % is only 10% . Now it is in development stage where people are showing interest to steady but there is no support for them
