Gap Girls

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gap Girls was a recurring sketch on Saturday Night Live with Adam Sandler as Lucy and David Spade as Krity, two teenage girls who work at the Gap. Chris Farley appears randomly as Cindy, their manager. Their answer to a customer's fashion dilemma, no matter what, was "just cinch it!" – tighten the belt – which became the skit's catchphrase.

There was also a skit that involved Chris Farley as the "fat" Gap Girl, Cindy Crawford (not to be confused with the supermodel, or as Cindy put it, "Not the Cindy Crawford"). He had the famous line, cutting from the Gap Girl effeminate sounding voice into a scarier baritone, "LAY OFF ME, I'M STARVING!" This was in response to the other Gap Girls intimating that Chris Farley's character should stop eating so many fries since "she" is on a diet. In later sketches, it was revealed that Christie had a one-night stand with Scott Baio and had an abusive boyfriend, "that a-hole Paul", and that Cindy later left The Gap in favor of working at a coffeehouse called Jitters.

[edit] Memorable quotes

Cindy: Yeah, Misty! You're so dumb that... when they were handing out brains, you thought they said trains! So then you got on it... er, on a train and went for a RIDE!
Misty: That doesn't even make sense!
Cindy: Shut up!

Kristy: Man, I love these fries.
Cindy: If you love em so much, why don't you marry em? Can I have some?
Kristy: Sure, Cindy, go ahead.
Cindy: Oh god, these are good!
Lucy: Cindy, can you leave some for us?
Kristy: I thought you were, um, trying to lose weight.
Cindy: [deep, masculine, threating voice] LAY OFF ME, I'M STARVING!

Cindy: Give him the keys to the street, and do it tonight!
