[edit] Multiple Gangwons
We have separate articles for 강원, one at Kangwon (for the North Korean portion), and one at Gangwon (for the South Korean portion). We don't have a separate article for the Joseon-era province, but it seems fairly obvious that we should, along the lines of Jeolla, Chungcheong, Hamgyong, etc. Since Kangwon and Gangwon represent the same Korean word, and are often used interchangeably to refer to either the North or South Korean provinces, I propose to:
1. Move Gangwon to Gangwon, South Korea
2. Move Kangwon to Kangwon, North Korea
3. Make Gangwon and Kangwon into disambiguation pages, one possibly redirecting to the other.
4. Create Gangwon (Joseon) for the historical/geographical entity which was once one of the Eight Provinces of Korea.
Seems like this would straighten things out a lot. Certainly information the Joseon-era province doesn't belong in the article on the South Korean province, where it is now. Comments? -- Visviva 11:33, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
