As of 2001 India census[1], Ganj Dundawara had a population of 41,245. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Ganj Dundawara has an average literacy rate of 44%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 51%, and female literacy is 38%. In Ganj Dundawara, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Ganjdundwara (P.G.) College, is very large and famous college affiliated to Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University, Agra. Once, it was the only degree college in the region after Agra. Students from various states come here for study.

Except education, Ganj Dundwara is also famous for its Loom Industry. You can listen buzzing of textiles machines all over the town.
Ganj Dundwara is situated on Kanpur-Kasganj Railway line. It is also connected to Etah by road.
