Ganges, Hérault

Ganges is a town and commune in southern France, in the Hérault département, of which it is a sous-préfecture. It is conveniently located at the crossroads of several of the major roads in the area.

Ganges was historically a major silk producing center in the 17th and 18th centuries and remnants of this industry still remain today in its architecture.

Ganges is a great place to base yourself for further excursions around the area, and has extensive activities around the area: Kayaking, Gliding, Karting and more.

The mobilette was created by a resident of Ganges and a plaque near the old town commemorates this fact.

Ganges is the European twin town of Schwalmtal (Germany).
