Ganderbal is a town and a notified area committee in Srinagar district in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, India.

As of 2001 India census[1], Ganderbal had a population of 13,944. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Ganderbal has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 37%. In Ganderbal, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.There is aone degree college, one higher secondary with the state of art facility for boys and one higher secondary school ofr girls.With effect from 01-April-2007 Ganderbal is now a district carved out from Srinagar.
