Ganddal

Ganddal is the southernmost district in the city of Sandnes, Norway

It has one of the city's largest industrial areas and the Jærbanen railroad runs through the area. As well as a passenger station for commuter traffic a new goods station is due to finish construction in 2007. This will be Norway's second largest and serve the entire Stavanger/Sandnes region. A new high-capacity bypass road will also open and carry traffic between the landscapes of Jæren, via the station and west of Ganddal's population to central Sandnes.

The famous Ganddal Atletklubb (Ganddal Athletes' Club), which is a powerlifting club and a training centre, is situated in Ganddal. Ganddal Atletklubb competes in different powerlifting competitions and strongman competitions.

Ganddal has several chapels and congregations where the religious of Ganddal meet.

Ganddal is famous for Stokkelandsvannet which is a small lake in the centre of Ganddal.

Ganddal has four schools. Ganddal skole and Sørbø skole which are Primary Schools. Sandnes Friskole is a private school from 1st to 10th grade and is organized by Jæren Kristne Senter (Jæren Christian Center). Lundehaugen videregående skole is a high school which specializes in music, dance and drama, media and communication, IKT and health and sociality.
