Gamston lies near West Bridgford, and is a suburb of Nottingham, only ten minutes away. It is part of the West Bridgford postcode of NG2. There is a village of the same name near Retford.
The homes in Gamston are new builds built betwn 1980 and early 1990's. The homes range from 2 bed bungalows and one bed terraces to 5 bedroomed family homes. The price of homes have increased in the past years due to the family feel of Gamston. The average price for a 4 bedroomed home is around £300,000.
The border between Gamston and Edwalton exists at the junction of Beckside, Melton Gardens and Alford Road. The West Bridgford border however is somewhat harder to ascertain, as the villages have grown to the extent that they both merge into each other.
Pubs in the area include 'The Goose at Gamston' and 'The Bridge'.
The centre of Gamston is based around Morrisons superstore, once Safeway; which now has a chinese takeaway, vet surgery and pet store nearby next to the community hall.
Local secondary schools and colleges include Rushcliffe School, West Bridgford Comprehensive and South Nottingham college.
