Gamma Epsilon Fraternity

The Gamma Epsilon Fraternity is an international service fraternity founded at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila, Philippines on August 25, 1963. It's sister organization, the Gamma Lambda Epsilon Sorority was established on August 25, 1965, the first year anniversary of the fraternity.

After the establishment of the organization at UST (Alpha chapter), the founders and pioneers organized chapters around the university-belt area starting at the University of the East which became Beta chapter, the Delta chapter at the Adamson University, Feati University (Omicron), Mapua Institute of Technology (Kappa), the Central Colleges of the Philippines (Gamma), the Jose Rizal College (Eta), the Ateneo de Manila University (Epsilon), the Arellano University (Rho), the University of the Manila (Mu), the National University (Nu), Centro Escolar University (Lambda), the University of the Philippines (Upsilon), the Far Eastern University which was named as Chi chapter, the San Beda College (Alpha Alpha), the Lyceum of the Philippines (Beta Alpha), the Technological Institute of the Philippines (Omicron Alpha), the San Sebastian College (Beta Beta), and the Letran College (Alpha Beta).

Fraternity officers and members from Alpha chapter also organized in the provinces including the Pi chapter at the Central Luzon State University, Zeta chapter at the Nueva Viscaya State Institute of Technology, the Omega chapter at the University of the Philippines in Los Banos, the Tau chapter at the Laguna College of Business and Arts, the Phi chapter at the University of Northern Philippines, the Sigma chapter at the Gregoria Araneta University Foundation, the Theta chapter at the St. Louis University, Iota chapter at the Mountain State Agricultural College (Benguet State University), and Xi chapter at the University of Baguio.

In January 1968, Gamma Epsilon established its first nest in the Visayas, the Psi chapter, at the Cebu Normal College. The Zeta Phi chapter at the Southwestern University was organized in 1969. Gamma Epsilon became a nationwide organization in the Philippines when it was brought at the Central Mindanao University-Zeta Omega Chapter in Bukidnon in 1972. From CMU, it was brought to Mindanao State University - Omega Rho Chapter in Marawi City on February 15, 1975.

From the 1970's to the 1980's, Gamma Epsilon rapidly grew and established nests in almost all universities and colleges throughout the country. At present, the Gamma Epsilon Fraternity and Gamma Lambda Epsilon Sorority are honored as among the oldest and largest fraternal organizations with chapters chartered in over 200 colleges and universities across the Philippines.

In 1979, Gamma Epsilon became an international organization when the chapter at the Central University of Madrid in Spain was opened, almost simultaneous with the establishment of the chapters at the University of Honolulu and University of Canada. Presently, there were also chapters chartered in California and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2002, Gamma Epsilon established its latest international chapter at Cholanlonkorn University in Thailand.

Gamma Epsilon is registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission as non-stock, non-profit, non-dividend corporation. Any updates by the organization will be published through circulars during its Regional and National Conventions.
