Season 2008-2009 of the 1. Gambrinus liga will be the 16th year of the Czech domestic football league.

FK Most and Bohemians 1905 have been relegated to the Czech second division after finish last and second last, respectively in the 2007-2008 Gambrinus Liga. The top two teams in the 2007-2008 Czech second division standings will be promoted to the first division.
