[edit] Galactic astronomy = The Study of a Galaxy

I believe this article should talk not about specifically the Milky Way, as there is already a detailed article regarding it, but rather the study of galaxies in general, with other pages/projects for different galaxies. --Exodio 22:37, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Disagree. The first paragraph of the article is correct: Galactic astronomy (with a capital G) is specifically the study of our Galaxy (or, more strictly, objects within our Galaxy such as stars, nebulae, stellar clusters, etc.), as opposed to extragalactic astronomy, which includes all other galaxies.
