Galveston Bay Area

The Galveston Bay Area is a loosely defined region in the southeast portion of Greater Houston. It is roughly defined by the western banks of Galveston Bay and extends inland roughly 10 miles (16 km) or so. It is sometimes called Houston's Bay Area or Bay Area Houston, and residents in the vicinity of Greater Houston typically call it simply "the Bay Area".

The Galveston Bay Area is relatively prosperous with a local economy built primarily around aerospace, petrochemical, and other high tech industries. NASA's Johnson Space Center is located in the heart of the region and is a major hub of the region's economic vitality.

The following cities, or parts thereof, are all generally considered to be part of the Galveston Bay Area:
- Houston (primarily Clear Lake City)
- Pasadena
- League City
- Webster
- Nassau Bay
- Seabrook
- Kemah
- Dickinson
