Gallery is a men's magazine published by Montcalm Publishing since 1972. It is one of the more popular "skin" magazines that arose in the wake of the popularity of Playboy magazine in the 1970s, and was founded by a group including Benihana restaurant-chain founder Rocky Aoki. Its parent also published The Twilight Zone Magazine in the 1980s, apparently in part in imitation of Penthouse magazine's offshoot project Omni.

Gallery magazine has long featured a "Girl Next Door" contest where photographers can submit pictures of amateur models (similar to Hustler magazine's "Beaver Hunt.") From each group of monthly entries, one model winner is selected each month. At the end of the year, one monthly winner is crowned "Girl Next Door of the Year", and is awarded a cash prize of $25,000. The most famous winner of the contest is retired porn star Stacy Valentine, at the time of her selection an Oklahoma housewife, Stacy Baker. [1]

Montcalm Publishing went bankrupt (March 2008). They left many photographers and models empty handed - some were owed close to $100,000.

The gallery magazine has recently been sold to the Magna Publishing Group. The first issue under the new owner will be the July 2008 issue. reference here: http://adultfyi.com/read.php?ID=27871
