Galium ruwenzoriense is a member of the family Rubiaceae and species of the genus Galium who lives at altitudes between 2,700 and 4,050 meters (8,900 - 13,300 ft) in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.[2]

A vining, scrambling[2] or "clambering plant", adapted to this way of growing by numerous minute hooks on the edges of leaf and stem[3] A "fine climber" with bristly leaves Galium ruwenzoriense can be found growing "on" the giant groundsel (Dendrosenecio) of the mountain range of its namesake.[4]

Galium ruwenzoriense has small greenish flowers and large red to black berries.[4]
