Galaxy AGN classification or galaxy active galactic nucleus classification is classification of galaxies with active galactic nuclei (AGN) in astronomy.
There are two main types of AGNs, Radio-quiet and Radio-loud, which are each broken up into further sub-types.
- Radio-quiet AGN
- Low-ionization nuclear emission-line regions (LINERs).
- Seyfert galaxies
- Radio-quiet quasars/QSOs.
- 'Quasar 2s'.
- Radio-loud AGN
- Radio-loud quasars.
- 'Blazars' (BL Lac objects and OVV quasars).
- Radio galaxies.
