Galactic Patrol is a science fiction novel by author Edward E. Smith, Ph.D.. It was first published in book form in 1950 by Fantasy Press in an edition of 6,596 copies. The novel was originally serialized in the magazine Astounding in 1937.

[edit] Plot introduction

The novel takes place thousands of years after the events of First Lensman. Lensman Kimball Kinnison travels to Arisia for advanced training in the use of the "Lens", a pseudo-life device which grants its user telepathic powers. Kimball uses this training with great success against the Boskonian pirates –only to find out that the pirates are a front for an enemy of far greater scope.
