Was his name Gaius Julius Civilis or Tiberius Claudius Civilis?Kuralyov 19:58, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)

His name probably was Claudius Civilis. Julius was misinterpreted (?) by some medieval scholar. Krastain 10:47, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mirror image

The current image (Nov 11, 2007) has Civilis looking left and is therefore a mirror image. He's looking rightward in Rembrandt's original. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.109.225.187 (talk) 23:46, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
