Gaius Caecilius Metellus Caprarius

Gaius or Caius Caecilius Metellus Caprarius (b. c. 160 BC) was a son of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Macedonicus.
In 134 BC and 133 BC he milited under Scipio Aemilianus at the assault of Numantia, in the Iberian Peninsula. Consul in 113 BC he successfully directed a campaign to Thrace, for which Triumph, in 111 BC, he Vanquisher of Thrace deserved from his Armies the title of Imperator. Censor in 102 BC, he fought in 99 BC for the return to Rome of the illustrious Chief of the Roman oligarchy, his cousin Quintus Caecilius Metellus Numidicus.
