Gaius Ateius Capito (tribune)

Caius Ateius Capito was a tribune of the plebs who, in 55 BC opposed the consul Marcus Licinius Crassus's expedition against the Parthians, on the pretext of adverse omens. In 50 BC, he was condemned by the Censors for having invented them.
In 44 BC, Capito was charged by the dictator Julius Caesar with the job of distributing land to his veterans.
