GAI Consultants Inc. (GAI) is an employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firm specializing in environmental, civil, transportation, geotechnical and structural engineering. It also offers environmental studies, cultural resources, planning, survey, land development and construction inspection services.
Founded in 1958 in Wilkinsburg (Pittsburgh) Pennsylvania by a group of Carnegie Mellon University graduate students and their professor, GAI started as a six-person engineering consulting firm specializing in foundation and soil mechanics engineering. Today the company employs more than 600 professionals that serve clients in transportation, land development, industry, energy, and environmental markets.
The company’s largest office in Homestead (Pittsburgh) Pennsylvania sits on a former brownfield site at The Waterfront on the Monongahela River. This location is directly across the river from another brownfield site, Summerset at Frick Park, a new 238-acre, $269 million residential development for which GAI is the site, civil, traffic, environmental, and geotechnical engineer.
GAI also maintains offices in Orlando, Florida; Jacksonville, Florida; Charleston, West Virginia; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Cincinnati, Ohio; Florence, Kentucky.; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
