Gabriel Estarellas

Gabriel Estarellas (born in Palma de Mallorca) is a Spanish guitarist.

Estarellas has made nearly 200 premieres of new guitar music, including works by Xavier Benguerel, Gilbert Biberian, Dušan Bogdanović, Salvador Brotons, Leo Brouwer, Stephen Dodgson, Tom Eastwood, Antón García Abril, Angelo Gilardino, Tomás Marco, Xavier Montsalvatge, Richard Stoker and Alexandre Tansman. In addition, he has made 17 recordings, including much music by contemporary Spanish and Italian composers (Gabriel Fernández Alvez, Giorgio Federico Ghedini, Cristóbal Halffter, Bernardo Juliá, Tomás Marco, Manuel Moreno-Buendía, Goffredo Petrassi, Claudio Prieto) as well as some more established repertoire (Manuel Ponce, Fernando Sor). He has also written some original compositions, including Diez Estudios de Virtuosismo.

In 2004, Estarellas received the Trujamán Award in recognition of his accomplishments.
