My name is Gaurang Patkar, and I am from Mumbai, India. I was born on 22 January 1980. Soon after my birth my family and I moved to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Following my high school I completed my Bachelors of Science in Internet and Data Communications at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. I am currently working in marketing and sales, as well as pursuing an MBA at the American University in Dubai.

I enjoy the Wikipedia concept and community. I make a couple of contributions to topics every couple of days. I do some photography as a hobby (apart from many other things). Since I take a lot of photos - most of my contributions are images and usually just a snippet of text, here and there. I am learning the wiki markup language so that I may collect and disribute information with the right formatting in the near future.
