[edit] About Controversy

Controversy part is an original research and a personal point of view. This unofficial classification is basically proposed by THES based on the rankings of The Sunday Times, The Guardian and The Times where these universities has been holding top three places with rare exceptions for a long time. University of Edinburgh could not make it within the top five even for once in recent days. In THES (currently THE) ranking LSE suffered massively due to a change of criteria which THE also acknowledged clearly. Moreover, University of Manchester is ranked higher than Edinburgh in THES ranking but that doesn't mean that this idea requires a change in membership. Agreed. The Controversy section was pointless; the criteria for membership is suitably clear and these five universities have unquestionably dominated the top five spots in the various university league tables since their inception. And to reiterate the world rankings had a high weighting on science research, which resulted in the slipping of the London School of Economics.--Zoso Jade (talk) 10:12, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
