G. Srinivasan

G. Srinivasan (born September 23, 1958 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, South India - died May 27, 2007) was a film producer who founded the independent production company Madras Talkies, with his brother, the director and screenwriter Mani Ratnam.

He produced acclaimed films such as Iruvar (1997), Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), Aayitha Ezhuthu (2004), Yuva (2004) and Guru, released in 2007. He was a practising Chartered Accountant. He was married to Sandhya. His brother is renowed film director Mani Ratnam. His elder brother is film producer G Venkateswaran, who had committed suicide a couple of years ago. He has three daughters - Shreya (20) and twins Divya and Akshaya (16).

G Srinivasan died in an accident while he was trekking in a tourist resort in Manali along with his wife and elder daughter on Sunday, 27th May 2007. Srinivasan slipped and fell into a 100-foot-deep gorge.
