G K Vasan, (Tamil: வாசன்) (Shri G.K. Vasan) an Indian political politician,[1] is the son of late Tamil Maanila Congress party leader G K Moopanar. After the death of TMC president G K Moopanar, the party unanimously elected G.K Vasan as its leader. After leading the party for some time, he merged his party with the Indian National Congress in the presence of its president Sonia Gandhi at Madurai. Mrs.Gandhi named him a general seceretary of the party at the meeting itself. Now G.K Vasan is minister of state (independent charge) of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation India
