For millions of years, the volcanoes of the Central Anatolian Plateau erupted and created wondrous landscape of Cappadocia, Turkey. Cappadocia is one of these rare places, where natural wonders and history of ancient Civilization are combined.At the image you could see Göreme with his famous fairy chimney. Fairy chimney are made out of tuff (consolidated volcanic ash) with a cap, which is made out of much harder basalt. The first period of settlement within the region reaches to Roman period of Christianity era.
The image was taken by Mila Zinkova. The picture was taken in April of 2006.
