Talk:Gérard Jean-Juste

[edit] NPOV
This article obviously has a POV problem, as it assumes that Jean-Juste is innocent of everything. Think we can resolve some of these problems fairly easily without removing much content. --MateoP 16:02, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Innocent of what, exactly? He hasn't been charged with anything. No evidence has been presented against him. Of course the article is going to assume he's innocent, how could it not. In most places in the world there is a presumption of innocence. A neutral encyclopedia would respect that presumption while presenting the arguments of all sides. The problem in this case is that the interim government in Haiti have simply not bothered to present their reasons for keeping Jean-Juste in jail without a lawyer, proper medical care, ect.. If you have some evidence regarding what you feel is Jean-Juste's guilt, then add it to the article, but the fact that such evidence does not exist or has not been presented to the public is not an indication that the article is pushing a pov. I'm removing the tag. 207.6.31.119 08:31, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kenrick Meek
Kendrick Meek is one of only a few people who like Gerard. I happen to know a few more people who don't like him and call him a communist. But hey, i don;t have a reliable source to prove that...yet. But putting Kendrick Meek as a source is not reputable, he doesn't even cite his sources, he just writes that he is beloved without any opinion polls, etc. Its Biased at its best.Coolguy1368 15:24, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- I know Father Jean-Juste and know Meek's statement is accurate as I qualified it, "He is a beloved figure among many of South Florida's Haïtian community." He had a radio program there for some time. As well, http://www.miaminewtimes.com/Issues/2005-10-27/news/strouse.html quotes a Haitian-American in Miami as saying he is a hero among the community. I am removing the NPOV tag. CyberAnth 14:36, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
