Fylingdales is the correct spelling of this place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nevilley (talkcontribs) 21:55, 17 December 2002 (UTC)

I agree. Use of the term Flyingdales appears to originate from the computerised version of the 1901 Census. A mis-spelt programming entry when translating the original handwritten census data to computer listed this place as Flyindales. Ordnance Survey, the Office of National Statistics (responsible for the census) and Qinetic (the company contracted to computerise the data) all agree that this was a simple error, and that the correct name is Fylingdales. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.69.192 (talk • contribs) 18:22, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Now i may be as thick as a whale omelette (c. Blackadder) but why no mention of giant golf balls on this page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnnybriggs (talkcontribs) 11:47, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
