What does the "F/V" stand for. I would think "Fishing Vessel" but maybe it's a company's I.D. before the ships name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.120.93.246 (talkcontribs)

F/V stands for Fishing Vessel. --Bobblehead (rants) 17:53, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

I am curious as to who own the Northwestern? Zoli Elo 07:52, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

The Hansen family owns the Northwestern.--K1000 01:04, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the answer. Zoli Elo 03:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Why is there a ling to Talk:F in this page?--Kyle(talk) 23:56, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

The software thinks it's a subpage of that. --Golbez 01:49, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ship Infobox

I would add the infobox about the Northwestern, but I do not know much about ships and as such don't even know how to fill the infobox in. If some kind soul would be willing to do this I would be greatly appreciative. I think that there is enough information in the article, but I am not sure.--Kyle(talk) 01:31, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Added infobox, but it needs more basic data. Brianhe (talk) 05:58, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
The Northwestern website has the official 1977 press release from MARCO and the Hansens, with pretty much everything needed to populate the infobox, so I took the liberty to finish it as best I could from the available technical info in the PR. Scarletsmith (talk) 00:55, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

Hello. I just moved the page to its current location, because for technical reasons, forward slashes should be avoided in article titles. Specifically, it renders the title to the right of the slash subordinate to what is on the left. In this case, the page was subordinated to F. So the problem has been fixed, but I just wanted to explain to anyone who was concerned with why the move was done. Thanks. Parsecboy (talk) 05:12, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Just to follow up on Parsecboy's explanation, the explanation in the manual of style is here. Cheers. HausTalk 18:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Notability?

Whoever tagged the page as having no notability...are you on crack? The Northwestern was the stuff of fishing legends on the Bering Sea long before Thom Beers ever came up with the idea of making a TV series about the deadliest job in the world, and now as Deadliest Catch comes into its 4th season after drawing over 49M viewers last year, it's now one of the most famous fishing vessels in the world. If nobody has any objection, I'll be deleting the notability BS nonsense come Monday... Scarletsmith (talk) 02:31, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Completely agree. I can't see any reason that this is not notable. It is the same thing as any article about a character in a tv show (few outside sources besides the show itself). On top of that, the Northwestern is an actual vessel, not just made up.--Kyle(talk) 04:04, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to remove the tag, as a WP:SHIPS member, I'm certain of the notability of this vessel. -MBK004 04:06, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
You rule. Thanks so much... Scarletsmith (talk) 11:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
