[edit] Nationality

Are anyone here actually from Fuzhou? I am so I can help. Mastaxpeng 01:17, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] need more sections

Can someone please add information about the geography and economy for this article? thanx. Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian and obviously it is a important economic and cultural centre.--Takamaxa 04:17, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Japanese occupation

Although Fuzhou was attacked by the Japanese in 1937 it was not occupied for long, and by 1941 was entirely free of enemy occupiers, such that a fully-functional British consulate was operating - it was the only former treaty port not occupied by Japan during most of the Sino-Japanese war. The relevant section needs to be amended. Simonwinchester 13:11, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

I partly agree. But you'd better offer us your reference before the amendment. --GnuDoyng 01:25, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The part of history is long and a little digressive

The paragraph concerning Hualin Temple seems trivial and should be discussed in a separate article denominated "Hualin Temple", so do the paragraphs on Lin Zexu and the city walls. The article should be concise and emphasize on the most important historical events.

There are also several flaws in the paragraphs and lacks of references. For example, Hualin Temple is not the oldest existing wooden structure in China, but the oldest in South China.

Anyone objects? If not, I will start abridging. Luhungnguong 10:43, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
