[edit] Song information
"Future Lovers" was written and produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzaï for her tenth studio album Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005). It was later mixed with a sample of lyrics and bassline from Donna Summer's classic disco hit "I Feel Love" to open Madonna's 2006 Confessions Tour. This version titled "Future Lovers/I Feel Love" appears on the CD+DVD release The Confessions Tour.
[edit] Music video
The backdrop video for "Future Lovers" used during the opening to the Confessions Tour, was directed by Steven Klein and shot during the photoshoot for W magazine on a soundstage in Hollywood, California in 2006. The theme of the video is equestrian and includes imagery of running horses and Madonna interacting with them. Another theme in this video is S&M, which Madonna also explored in her 1992 music video "Erotica", the 1992 book Sex and the 1993 tour The Girlie Show.[1] Most of the horses in this video are not real.
This video was used as the backdrop to the onstage performance in which Madonna arrives in a disco-ball in equestrian-gear as she simulates riding her male dancers. The male dancers in this performance are dressed as horses wearing bliders and muzzles. This version premiered on the first date of the 2006 tour.
