Furtherwick Park School is for 11 - 16 year olds to attend and is located on Canvey Island . The school is located in the town centre and is the oldest school on the Island and celebrates it's 50th birthday in 2006. The school has around 1000 pupils that attend. This school is no longer accepting new year 7 students because in 2011/2012 the school will be moving students to cornelius[citation needed] and Castle View School. While this happens the current furtherwick site will be constructed into the new castle view. In 2007 the school got a media Arts College status.

At Furtherwick park they teach dance as a single lesson where as castle view teaches as a part of p.e.

During 2006 furtherwick park students got in contact with a NASA space shuttle, the students where able to ask the astronauts about what its like to travel in space or if they ever get scared.
