Furnarchy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Furnarchy is a pluggable, scriptable, skinnable enhancement program (or proxy) for the Furcadia client. It is open source and maintained by Cluracan with numerous third-party contributions from its userbase.

[edit] Mechanism
While other Furcadia proxies act as a simple local TCP proxy server to intercept network strings between the client and the game server, Furnarchy, instead, invades and embeds itself into the Furcadia process' memory space, fundamentally altering and enhancing the client's behavior at the machine code level.
[edit] Reception and criticism
Proponents of Furnarchy praise the embedded nature of the program, which accounts for better performance and features that seamlessly extend the functionality of the client. Its modular and open architecture encourages rapid deployment of features that may not be practical to implement in other proxies.
Opponents sometimes express frustration with Furnarchy's complexity. Also, due to the intimate relationship it maintains with the client process, the client inherits any program instabilities inherent to Furnarchy. Dragon's Eye Productions warns its players to approach any third-party software with appropriate caution.[1]
