[edit] Mont Royal
Hi Funnyhat, Oops! I knew that it was Mont Royal and not Mont Real! Dang. I can't believe I made that mistake. I'll go back and change it. Mona-Lynn 02:43, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Comerica smaller size
Your assessment of the "artificial demand" is partially true. Writers have also commented on the move to smaller parks as being due to changing demographics. To be more blunt about it, baseball is not as "important" as it once was, compared with certain other sports. When the NFL started, they rented from the baseball teams. By the 1960s, the baseball teams were sharing with the NFL in facilities that were decidedly more conducive to football. Now they are going their separate ways, the NFL stadiums being larger, and the MLB parks being smaller. The "artificial demand" strategy seems to work, as long as the product is attractive. I wonder how small they would have to make Milwaukee's Miller Park so that demand would exceed supply?

That's the dilemma, the obstructed views. If you look at the old parks, even the original Yankee Stadium, and very observable in Wrigley Field also, you'll see that the lower deck was wide and the upper deck was narrow. That meant a lot of posts in the lower deck. What they have done, in essence, is to swap the lower and upper decks... which is not a good thing, for reasons such as the ones you cite. The real dilemma is that in baseball, there are only so many good seats, and the others are... well, not so good. Wahkeenah 02:46, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Bald Eagle
I somewhat belatedly picked up your change of the name of this species to the American lower case style; there is an agreed convention that bird species' names are always capitalised on Wikipedia (no agreement for other groups, although de facto for eg cetaceans, thanks, jimfbleak 05:11, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] United States presidents and control of congress
Thanks for the cleanup. I was WP:GNOMEing thru and saw it was more than a 30 second fix. Glad to see other editors lend a hand. Thx! — MrDolomite | Talk 02:43, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hello Detroit Architectural contributers:
The following category Category:Buildings with sculpture by Corrado Parducci is up for deletion. (I don't know how to make a link to it, but go to your favorite 1920s or 1930s Detroit Building and it is probably there ) You can vote for or against this action. Please consider doing this here. It is number 1:34. Thanks Carptrash 03:42, 28 February 2007 (UTC) PS Parducci has several works in AA notably the Rackham Graduate Schoo,l the Ann Arbor News building and a couple of churches.
[edit] Pont Ruelle
I've marked it for deletion with reason "author requested deletion". Someone will be along to take care of it shortly I'm sure. Shenme 05:09, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] James
Excellent edits to James. Caught that "sixteenth", a daft error which crept under the radar. Although "averse to marrying a heretic" was taken from a book, it clearly failed to make clear that the sentence had a point of view. qp10qp
[edit] Funny hat in Polish
Hey, if you want another language for your collection, "Funny Hat" is "Śmieszny Kapelusz" in Polish. ;-) --Targeman 16:13, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Excellent! It will be added. Funnyhat 16:54, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] I miss A2
Are you still in Ann Arbor? Please take some photo for me. I'm currently feeling too blue to the point of crying. =( __earth (Talk) 13:32, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mexican-American War
Thanks for your excellent edits at this article. Griot 16:47, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "County seat"
Just curious, why are you changing all the references to county seat to a piped link that just reads "seat"? I think it may be confusing for readers unfamiliar with the concept. Though the definition of "seat" is "the center of authority", the term "county seat" is better because it is more specific, and I believe in common usage people normally say something is "the county seat of Whatever County." I don't think redundancy is an issue in this case. Katr67 21:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Belgium
You made once some copyedit of the Belgium page. Thank you very much for that. One of your edits suppressed some very sensitive non NPOV statement. This statement reappeared again and the editot who is responsible for that (User:SomeHuman) is sitting on this statement as a watchdog on a bone. Could you please have a glance at the Belgium talk page and give your opinion about it. Thanks a lot. User:Vb 08:05, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Names of the colonial wars
On all the pages, I added that the Royal name is only used in the US, and that in Can, UK, Fra, we just use the name of the European war that goes with it. Kevlar67 06:11, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tourism in metropolitan Detroit
Please take a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tourism in metropolitan Detroit, you may want to have some input. Thanks Thomas Paine1776 21:58, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Names of letters
Re your comment on 2 July 2007 that “Letters do not have official spellings beyond their one letter. . . . I challenge you to find me an authoritative source suggesting otherwise.”
- Names of letters. The name of a letter, as distinct from the letter itself, is usually set in roman type. . . . drawn from Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, should be used only where a single italicized letter is inappropriate. Editors and proofreaders occasionally need to name letters (“a cue, not a gee”). (The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th Edition, 7.68)

[edit] Looking for Wikipedians for a User Study
Hello. I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota. We are conducting research on ways to engage content experts on Wikipedia. Previously, Wikipedia started the Adopt-a-User program to allow new users to get to know seasoned Wikipedia editors. We are interested in learning more about how this type of relationship works. Based on your editing record on Wikipedia, we thought you might be interested in participating. If chosen to participate, you will be compensated for your time. We estimate that most participants will spend an hour (over two weeks on your own time and from your own computer) on the study. To learn more or to sign up contact KATPA at CS dot UMN dot EDU or User:KatherinePanciera/WPMentoring. Thanks. KatherinePanciera (talk) 02:09, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Minneapolis, MN
It is cited later in the article: http://www.ccsu.edu/AMLC07/Default.htm. joshschr (Talk | contribs) 21:39, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I've added it back into the article. I don't know where you got a 67% graduation rate; that seems really high. Most calculations I've seen put it around 50%.[1] ~ Eóin (talk) 22:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] License for Image:Guardianbuilding.jpg
The image Guardianbuilding.jpg is a candidate to be copied to the Wikimedia Commons. When you uploaded this image, you licensed it for use under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). On behalf of the Wikipedia and Commons communities, thank you.
You also chose a license tag which adds disclaimers to the GFDL. As explained at Wikipedia:GFDL standardization, these disclaimers cause certain re-use problems that make the GFDL less free than it could be.
Before I copy this image to the Commons, I wanted to ask whether you would be willing to remove the disclaimers from your GFDL tag. No one other than you may legally alter the license. If you do choose to modify the license on this image, I respectfully recommend any of the following best-practices license tags:
You are under no obligation whatsoever to alter the license. Doing so merely cooperates with those members of the community who believe that disclaimers in individual media are undesirable. Wikipedia consensus still allows GFDL licenses with disclaimers, as does the Commons.
Whether or not you choose to remove the disclaimers, thank you for your consideration.
