Hi. While you are mediating the baseball matter, Tecmo is back deleting the ELs that are the very subject of the discussion. See [1] This is highly disruptive. Can you please address? Thanks. --Epeefleche 17:45, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

MedCab

There is an ongoing discussion at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2007-06-26 List of Mario series enemies, and you are listed as an involved party there. Would it be okay, if you would like to be involved in the mediation there, if I mediate the case? Cool Bluetalk to me 20:08, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Well, you're better off taking that up with the guy that started the MedCab case. You don't have to participate. Cool Bluetalk to me 21:55, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

MedCab: Spoiler

Noticed you signed on as mediator, for this. You may want to see Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration#Spoiler Warning. Currently at 0/1/0/0 to decline the case, but it's got a good number of statements from involved users, and I always hate being in the dark when trying to mediate, so thought you might like to know. – Luna Santin (talk) 21:30, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey there. Thanks for taking the case on. I hope you know what you're getting yourself in for, as the amount of discussion on this issue probably exceeds the length of the collected works of Shakespeare. Literally. Anyway, good luck, and I hope we can come to an amicable conclusion. -Kieran 01:49, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Asking for help on MedCab Spoiler

I see you've decided to try and handle it on your own. I did drop a message at Addhoc's talk page asking for help, so let's see what happens with that. I think it's likely to be a tough case, and asking for help could be quite wise, but let's see how we go? -Kieran 02:49, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Hey FunPika. Thank you for your help at User:Salaskan/Vandalism is pointless. I see you placed an "essay" tag on top; however, this page is intended at potential vandals and if they read "this is not necessarily true, merely an essay", they may just take it less seriously. I had already included it in the Category:Wikipedia essays so we can easily find it, though. What about this kind of construction? It is also used at other pages intended for a more general audience, like WP:10T. SalaSkan 13:12, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

LULU and Curtis Doebbler Edits

Dear FunPika, You posted concerns about my adding to Lulu and Curtis Doebbler pages. As concerns Lulu you claimed that the addition of text indicating that Lulu provided printing and distribution services to small publishers was not supported. In fact this addition was based on my research which determined that [cdpublishing.org], a samll publisher, uses Lulu for printing and distribution.. As concerns Curtis Doebbler you claimed that a link that was added did not meet the Wikipedia requirements, can you be more specific? I do not understand your last concern enough to be able to respond to it. Thank you in advance and thank you for your contribtutions to Wikipedia. --Robert 07:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:18, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey FunPika, do you mind company writing the RfB story? I'm following everything, but not really participating. Some of the recent developments (narrow promotion for Andrevan and extension for Ral315) make everything more interesting and add a layer of complexity that makes me think it would be interesting to write about. GAC backlog elimination

Thank you for participating in Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/GA nominees task force/GAC backlog elimination drive. However, I have some concerns over your recent promotion on Talk:Super Nintendo Entertainment System#Good Article nomination. You didn't show us why the article is promoted to GA. Please read Wikipedia:Good article candidates throughly before doing any evaluation. If you need an example, you can take a look at Talk:Kritosaurus#GA Review and see how it's done properly. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Once again, you didn't follow the the GA criteria guidelines on your assessments for Union Pacific Railroad. Please read over Wikipedia:Good article candidates#How to review an article to make sure you are familiar with the whole process of GA, not just the approving part, before you continue assessing other articles. OhanaUnitedTalk page 12:10, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thanks in part to your support, I am Wikipedia's newest bureaucrat. I will do my best to live up to your confidence and kind words. Andre (talk) 09:38, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

GAC reviews

Hi. I'm glad you've taken an interest in reviewing GAC articles. To make it easier for you, I've listed some of the more common problems found with GA nominees. Not all of them are part of the GA criteria, but they're still all worth mentioning in a review.

  • The lead needs to adequately summarize the content of the article.
  • There should not be anything in the lead not mentioned in the rest of the article.
  • Wikilinks should only be made if they are relevant to the context. Common words do not need wikilinking.
  • A word only needs to be wikilinked once within each section.
  • It is not recommended to specify the size of images. The sizes should be what readers have specified in their user preferences.
  • Text should not be sandwiched between two adjacent images.
  • All fair-use images need a fair use rationale.
  • Each statement that is likely to be challenged needs an inline citation.
  • Book references need the author, publisher, publishing date and page number.
  • Web references need the author, publisher, publishing date, access date, language (if not English) and format (if a PDF file).
  • Web references need to be reliable and active. Blogs and personal sites are not reliable.
  • Inline citations belong immediately after punctuation marks.
  • "Further info" links belong at the top of sections.
  • Lists should only be included if they can't be made into prose or their own article.
  • Lists within prose should be avoided.
  • En dashes are used for ranges, em dashes are used for punctuation.
  • " " (non-breaking space) should be typed between numbers and units.
  • Imperial measurements should be accompanied by the metric equivalent in brackets, and vice versa. If possible, use a convertion template, eg. {{convert|5|mi|km|0}}.
  • Whole numbers under 11 should be spelled out as words, except when in lists, tables or infoboxes.
  • Sentences should not start with a numeral. The sentence should be recast or the number should be spelled out.
  • Usually, only the first word in a section heading needs a capital letter.
  • Short sections and paragraphs are discouraged.
  • The words "current", "recent" & "to date" should be avoided as they become outdated.
  • Ampersands should not be used. Epbr123 13:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Your warning tag on my discussion page...

Well, I don't know what to say, really. I haven't yet ever been tagged for anything and that certainly wasn't the first time that I had done something like that when someone seemed to be a persistent vandal to me. That said, Wknight94 already addressed it in the edit summaries, and I already responded here. I appreciate your diligence, but I'm removing your tag from my talk page unless you have a serious objection. I think if you check my edit log, you'll see that I'm pretty active in fighting vandalism. Douglasmtaylor 15:33, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Because I have been inactive for about 3 1/2 months I have not noticed whats been going on. I noticed VK35 was blocked indefinitley because of sockpuppeting. Do you know what made this go on? I used to be a sockpuppet at one time also. I suppose I could have helped bail him out of this mess but I wasn't here. Its to bad because he made me a good user and gave me my Wikismarts. Also I AM NOT VK35, I almost got banned from Wikipedia and would not try it again. I just want to know why this happened.69.145.163.26 20:03, 6 August 2007 (UTC) and [user:Wiki-wikify]

Image notice and subsequent notice removal

Might you explain this edit? Had I not been in the practice of checking my watchlist, i might have missed it being posted, and would not have known to visit the image and explore what sort of issue was occuring. Perhaps you could explain it to me, so i don't arrive at a misconceived conclusion. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 01:54, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Okay, that makes sense. And I see that Melesse resized it. Out of curiosity (and ecause I typically upload a lot of images), how big is too big? - Arcayne (cast a spell) 02:03, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
