Appetite for Destruction is the debut album by the American rock band Guns N' Roses, released on July 21, 1987. By the summer of 1988, it had been certified gold after selling 500,000 copies. On August 6, 1988, it reached #1 on the Billboard 200. [1] In 1998, it was certified 15x platinum, having sold over 15 million copies in the United States alone. [2][3]
