[edit] Gun violence
I could not find an appropriate place to link this term. It was sitting as a redlink, and no matter where I searched I could not find the right article. However, I assume that there is an appropriate place to direct this to. Help? Lsjzl 12:11, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Press Release?
The article currently making the press rounds about Lisa's Story references a press release from King Features, but I haven't been able to turn it up. It would help to have the press release included in the article along with or instead of articles merely discussing it. Help? Rebochan 17:33, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- I found the King Features press releases on Lisa's Story. This source has been cited. DutchTreat 01:25, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Funky Cancercancer
Cancer survivor he may be, but there's no excuse for the torturing of his characters just because he can. Even the lighthearted scenes in recent days cannot escape the sense of crushing despair that fills his work. DarkAudit 17:46, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
I read that Shortpacked comic too. At any rate, that might be a basis for a criticism section to be put up.
- The day the cancer story took this latest turn, sites like The Comics curmudgeon were full of venom towards Tom Batuik and his treatment of Lisa and the others. The news that he was a cancer survivor only served to make the comments even angrier. DarkAudit 04:45, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- I added a line about reader reaction with links to the Shortpacked comic, and The Comics Curmudgeon. I would submit that these are valid sources of criticism. DarkAudit 18:33, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
- Shortpacked, yes, but blog links are a tough sell as a Wikipedia-worthy source and the page for the blog has been deleted. Rebochan 18:38, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- I would suggest that The Comics Curmudgeon is still a valid source of criticism. There are few if any mainstream sources of comment about newspaper comics. DarkAudit 21:01, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- While I very much enjoy and participate in Josh's blog, blog resources are very rarely considered valid sources for Wikipedia articles. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. Rebochan 15:31, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

By the way, I was able to create a controversy section out of the reaction to Lisa's Story and the apology he was forced to give over the one with Wally and the bomb simulator. If anyone has any other documented controversies or any Wikipedia-friendly sources of critism, that would be great. As a sidenote, I still can't get over how whiny today's Crankshaft is. == Tom Batuik, Coward ==
He couldn't be bothered to give Lisa the dignity of a funeral, even for one panel. The jump happened the very next day. DarkAudit 21:57, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I think that Sunday's strip will have Lisa's funeral, if it fits Les' recollections to the shrink. Elwin Blaine Coldiron 02:41, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Not future enough
Ok, so he jumps the strip to 2018 AD. Where are the small changes in technology, style, music, etc that occur even over so small an interval as a decade? Videophone? More people riding Segways, something?

- It's a comic strip. - Denimadept (talk) 20:39, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Band Directors Widow's club
Now really. If you don't understand that joke, you should just think about it some more. - Denimadept (talk) 20:39, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- And to forestall similar wild speculation about the strip for 18 January 2008, "Midwest Clinic" refers to an annual music education conference. 74.142.56.25 (talk) 13:46, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
