A pile of cleaned funnel chanterelle, also known as winter chanterelle or yellow foot. Collected, prepared, photographed and postprocessed by David Remahl 2004-09-26. The location where they grew was in Västra Götaland, Sweden, on relatively wet forest ground. These were the first funnel chanterelles of the year, since the season was just about to begin.
