[edit] The Story of The Band

Nikki, Emma, Sara, Becca and Ross met and trained at Europe’s leading school for Rock and Pop musicians, The Academy of Contemporary Music, based in Guildford, Surrey[2]. The band recorded and performed as a five-piece, producing three titles for Templar Publishing's award-winning Amazing Baby series of books[3] before Ross left the band to take part in ITV's X-Factor competition as part of boyband Avenue. After getting through to the finals and subsequently being disqualified from the show as a result of already being in a management deal, Ross and Avenue continue to seek a record deal, whilst the remaining members of FUNtastic! continue as a four-piece[4].

[edit] Releases

Prior to Ross' departure, FUNtastic! recorded three albums which existed alongside their audio-books. Whilst the well known material heard in their audio-books is also available on each album, the albums include bonus original material. Two of the audio collections were released digitally worldwide by Apple iTunes on 5th March 2007.

  • 'Sleep, Baby, Sleep' is a collection of Night time Songs and Lullabies.[5]
  • 'Out Came The Sun...' is a collection of Children's Songs and Nursery Rhymes.[6]

The group also recorded a Christmas album which was meant to accompany their 'Jingle Bell Baby' audio-book. Following Ross' departure, it has since been re-recorded and is now due for release on 19th November 2007 on digital and CD formats.

  • 'Merry Christmas, with love from FUNtastic! xxxx' is a collection of Christmas Songs and Carols.
